Cookie Policy
The small set of cookies Chatref uses, what each one does, and how you stay in control.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between visits, such as keeping you signed in. This policy explains the cookies Chatref uses on chatref.ai and app.chatref.ai, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies we use
Chatref keeps cookies to a minimum. We group them into three categories:

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
- We do not share cookie data with ad networks.
4. Third-party cookies
A few trusted providers may set cookies to deliver core parts of the service: Clerk for authentication and sign-in sessions, and PostHog for product analytics. When you make a payment, Paddle, our Merchant of Record, may set cookies at checkout to process the transaction securely. These providers are listed as sub-processors in our Privacy Policy.
5. How to control cookies
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear existing ones.
Please note: if you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in or use the dashboard, because those cookies are required for the service to work.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how sites should respond, so Chatref does not change its behaviour based on this signal. We keep tracking minimal for everyone regardless.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
